Seeds

Zebra Doves feed on the ground, eating almost exclusively small seeds, including weed and grass seeds, rice, and other cultivated grains.

Usually placed in the horizontal fork of a tree or at the base of palms but sometimes built on the ground when predators are absent.

Behavior

Ground Forager

Zebra Doves often occur in pairs or small groups, and sometimes gather in larger numbers at watering holes or plentiful food sources. They frequently feed on roadsides in the early morning.
