Zebra Dove Identification

A small, slender, long-tailed dove with scaly upperparts and dark barring on the sides and nape.

At close range, note the blue-gray face and throat, blue-green skin around the eye, and the unmarked pinkish central breast.

A small dove with barring on the neck and flanks, a pinkish breast giving way to a tan belly, and pale greenish skin around the eye.

Often seen in pairs or small groups.

Found in open habitats with some trees or bushes.

A small, vocal species, often found in pairs. Note the long, tapered tail edged with black.

Forages on the ground, feeding almost entirely on small seeds.
