Basic Description

The Red-vented Bulbul is a bold songbird with a pointed black crest, a prominent white rump, and a red vent—or patch under the tail—which is often hidden. It's a common sight in South Asia, where it's native, and in areas where it has been introduced, including Hawaii, other Pacific islands, and the Middle East.
