Cornell Hawks Cam Returns For 2025 Breeding Season
March 5, 2025The Red-tailed Hawk Cam is back online following infrastructure improvements at the nest site, and the hawks are already busy preparing for the 2025 breeding season! Watch above as Arthur delivers sticks to the nest while Big Red carefully shapes the nest bowl. Cornell University’s resident Red-tailed Hawks will likely continue building up their nest over the next couple of weeks as Big Red prepares to lay her first egg in mid to late March.
If all goes as planned, this will be Big Red’s fourteenth year on cam. She and her first mate, Ezra, successfully raised five generations of hawks from 2012 to 2015. After Ezra passed away in 2017, Arthur took up the reins in 2018. Now, we’re hoping to watch Big Red and Arthur raise their eighth set of chicks to fledging in 2025!
