Springbrook Spring Migration Celebration

  • This event has passed.

May 13, 2023 @ 11:00 am 2:00 pm

Join us to celebrate Springbrook Nature Center’s Migration Celebration, an annual event to celebrate the return of our migratory birds with programs and activities for all ages. Springbrook Park has 127 acres of uniquely diverse ecosystems: native prairies, oak and aspen forest, oak savannah, extensive wetlands, 3 miles of hiking trails, and floating boardwalks. The park is a great location to see many bird species, and the Springbrook Nature Center has live animals and exhibits.

The Springbrook Migration Celebration will have Guided Bird Hikes on trails throughout the park (binoculars available for participants); Story Hike to learn about how birds build their nests; Craft Station to build a nest and make homemade bird feeders, with themed activities and coloring sheets; Bird Facts Station to learn about migrating birds and the water and resources on which they depend; Great Migration Game Station to have fun while learning about the struggles migrating birds face; Live Raptor Program; Art Gallery from local artists featuring birds and migration, Information Tables from birding groups in the Minneapolis area.

All these activities and more will be happening at Springbrook Nature Center on May 13th from 11am – 2pm.

Come and celebrate with us!
