Calls

A low, nasal, braying eh-eh is the most commonly heard call during courtship displays, which also feature vocalizations described as mooing, moaning, whining, whinnying, grunting, growling, and yammering. Birds squabbling over food at sea often give loud squealing, even screeching calls.

Other Sounds

Both sexes snap and clatter their bills during courtship displays.
