Barred Owls Sound Off During Midnight Delivery
March 24, 2026Anyone up for a midnight snack? Watch an early morning crayfish delivery at the entrance to the Barred Owl’s nest box. The pair exchange hoots as the male drops off the snack for his mate. After the quick handoff, both owls depart, and the female would return shortly after to resume incubation over her eggs. Crayfish are hunted from waterways near the nest site and have proven to be a common prey item over the years.
