The uncommon Connecticut Warbler is a skulker of thickets, foraging primarily on or near the ground. It breeds in boreal forest and winters in northern South America.

Immature Description

Immature similar to adult, but with duller and browner head and paler throat.

Similar Species

Mourning Warbler lacks eyering and has a pronounced black patch in the middle of the breast. Immature Mourning Warbler may have an eyering, but it is usually narrow and often broken.
MacGillvray's Warbler has broken eyering and dark chest.
Young Common Yellowthroat similar to young Connecticut Warbler, but yellowthroat has white belly.
Nashville Warbler has yellow throat, is much smaller and slimmer, and forages higher in trees.
