Foe more than 25 years, the beautiful Upper Columbia Valley<\/a> has celebrated the return of spring migration and the re-awakening of nature with the Wings over the Rockies Nature Festival. The\u00a0rich and varied habitats found along the Columbia River, flanked by the Canadian Rockies and the Purcell\u00a0range, offer a welcoming environment for wildlife and for the birds returning to their nesting sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wings over the Rockies Nature Festival is based out of the mountain town of Invermere, BC, Canada<\/a>,\u00a0with events stretching from Golden<\/a> to the north, down to Wasa<\/a> in the south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the premier nature festivals in Western Canada, participants can enjoy over 100 events during\u00a0the 7 days from in-the-field excursions, luncheon, and evening presentations, a gala dinner with keynote\u00a0speaker, and large music concert. Festival leaders and presenters share their understanding and passion of\u00a0our natural world. Come join like-minded nature lovers and enjoy the wonders of the Upper\u00a0Columbia Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c’The Wings over the Rockies Nature Festival\u2019 conjures up an image of all that is great about Canada . . . spectacular scenery, abundant nature and a warm, human spirit of getting together in a worthy cause.\u00a0The world over, when people think of Canada, they think of the glory of the Rockies. When you combine\u00a0this with the upper reaches of the mighty Columbia, you have an unsurpassed natural setting. The\u00a0continuous wetlands along the river are perfect as breeding areas and staging places for a significant\u00a0number of bird species. This and the many other habitats provide a variety of ecosystems which will\u00a0bring joy to any naturalist. But the idea of this festival goes far beyond a ‘get-together’ of serious\u00a0naturalists.
