This weekend celebrates the spring migration of songbirds and shorebirds as they make their annual migration north. Presqu\u2019ile Park\u2019s<\/a> position as a peninsula sticking out into Lake Ontario and its varied habitats make it a migration hotspot. Birds concentrate in numbers throughout the park, resting and feeding before migrating north. This gives birders a great opportunity to see and appreciate a wide range of bird species<\/a> in a small area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This weekend is aimed at those just starting out as birders or those who would like to learn more about the birds in the Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturalist-led bird walks take place at 6:30 am, 10 am, and 2 pm both days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join the Friends of Presqu\u2019ile Park for a BBQ lunch fundraiser at the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A full schedule of events will be posted on our website and Facebook pages closer to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All events are free with park admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
