Winter Wings Festival

February 17, 2023 February 20, 2023

Planning is underway for the 2023 Festival. Our hope is for a more “normal festival”: four days of activities, vendors, a youth art show, and children’s activities with vaccinations not required but recommended. We plan to update you on the effects of climate change and the current water situation on birds that live in and migrate through the Klamath Basin during the first day of the festival.  We will announce 2023 keynoters this summer and the full program in mid-November. Registration is expected to open in mid-December.

Return to the Klamath Basin to see the largest concentration of wintering Bald Eagles in the Lower 48 states and enjoy other wintering bird species, typically numbering about 130 or more. Winter Wings is the oldest birding festival in the West managed by Klamath Basin Audubon Society volunteers with support from sponsors, grants, and participant registration fees. Festival proceeds support local grants to teachers and other entities for outdoor education and community nature-related projects.

Look for more details on the program at www.WinterWingsFest.org and on our Facebook page.
