Virginia Osprey Festival in Colonial Beach

Each spring, the charming riverside town of Colonial Beach, Virginia, comes alive with the return of the ospreys—and the community celebrates with the 8th Annual Virginia Osprey Festival. Set along the beautiful Potomac River , this family-friendly event highlights the wonder of these iconic raptors while fostering awareness of conservation and the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.
Festival-goers of all ages can enjoy guided bird walks, educational talks by leading scientists and conservationists, live raptors, nest tours to view active osprey nests, and a variety of interactive programs for children. The weekend also features live music, art inspired by nature, regional food vendors, and a bustling artisan market.
