Tanana Valley Sandhill Crane Festival

August 19 - August 21

Celebrate the fall migration as thousands of Sandhill Cranes begin their journey south for the winter. The Festival is held the 3rd weekend of August and features internationally renowned speakers, artists, and guides. Activities and workshops are offered for all ages, which include guided walks, birdwatching, photography, falconry, and crane calling.

Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge comprises approximately 2,200 acres of fields, woods, and wetlands in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The front field area and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Buildings are located on the northern edge of the City of Fairbanks. Friends of Creamer’s Field works collaboratively with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADFG) and other community partners to deliver education programs at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. We operate out of the Farmhouse Visitor Center, the original Creamer family farmhouse (circa 1908), which features interpretive exhibits on migratory birds and the historic dairy complex.

Join us for the Tanana Valley Sandhill Crane Festival August 19 to 21, 2022!
