The Squamish Environment Society (SES) is a community-based volunteer organization working in the upper Howe Sound region of southwestern British Columbia. Our roots are deep in providing opportunities for members and others to enjoy and explore nature. SES is a member of BC Nature, an affiliation of more than 50 natural history clubs province-wide.

The Squamish River Area was  identified in the mid-1990’s as an Important Bird Area (IBA BC023) under Important Bird Areas Canada. The Squamish Birders organize monthly estuary bird counts, the annual Christmas Bird Count (CBC), and other birding activities.
