Spring Bluebird Festival

The Michigan Bluebird Society is excited to announce its Spring Bluebird Festival to be held March 28, 2026, in Ann Arbor at the Washtenaw Community College’s Morris Lawrence Building. The keynote speaker will be Julie Zickefoose, a nationally renowned naturalist, bluebird expert, blogger, author, and artist   Her program, “What I Have Learned in 40 Years of Bluebirding,” will cover many insider tips and tricks of how to help bluebirds raise more young. 

The festival hours will run from 9:00 to 4:45 p.m. and will include educational programs and exhibits related to bluebirds and other native cavity nesting birds.  The event is open to the general public. Admission to the event is free, but there is a $22 optional charge per lunch which must be reserved in advance by March 18th. To reserve and pay for lunch, attendees must preregister online at: www.michiganbluebirds.org/springfestival.

The purpose of the festival is to educate people about how to help bluebirds and other native cavity nest birds improve their nesting success and survival long term in the state. Representatives of the Michigan Bluebird Society will be there to answer questions on bluebirds and help people interested in attracting them using nesting boxes and feeders.  In addition there will be a Bluebird & Nature Expo featuring products for sale and other local conservation group informational displays
