South Llano River Birding Festival

Bird watchers have recorded more than 250 species at South Llano River State Park. The park has four well maintained bird blinds. Festival activities include a meet-and-greet social, breakfast with the birds on Saturday and Sunday, a selection of hikes and tours that include Golden-cheeked Warbler hikes, birding the riparian, birding by golf cart, birding around town, banding and mist-netting, and more. Saturday wraps up with a banquet dinner at the Texas Tech campus. The Keynote Speaker, Dr.Clint Boal, will talk about Land Fragmentation and its Effect on Raptors.
