Sedona Hummingbird Festival

July 28, 2023 July 30, 2023

Arizona is well known for seeing hummingbird species, and people travel great distances to see Arizona’s hummers.  The Sedona Hummingbird Festival is held at the peak of Sedona’s hummingbird season: 5 to 7 species and typically five times the number of hummers as in early summer. The festival is held in the Sedona Performing Arts Center and includes three days of presentations by hummingbird specialists, birding trips (led by Northern Arizona Audubon Society), Birds & Blooms Hummingbird Garden Tours, Saturday Gala Banquet, banding demonstration, and Hummingbird Marketplace (exhibitors and vendors).

Thanks to Sedona’s high altitude of 4,500 feet, the temperature is cooler than in more southern parts of Arizona, and lodging is lower at this time of year. Participants can also enjoy Sedona’s Red Rock Scenic Byway (7.5 miles), Oak Creek Canyon, Scenic Jeep Tours, miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, winemaking, and galleries. There is no prettier place in America to see hummers.
