Reelfoot Lake Eagle Festival
January 30, 2026 – February 1, 2026
The 22nd Reelfoot Lake Annual Eagle Festival is the first weekend of February and offers a variety of tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The “Live Birds of Prey Program” is held Saturday afternoon and evening. This program features various birds of prey, including a bald eagle. You will see these birds of prey up-close and even experience a flyover as a bird of prey flies over the audience. Vendors will be set up at the Visitors Center offering art, clothing, jewelry, the Official Eagle Festival T-shirts, and many other items to purchase.
Winter is the best time to visit Reelfoot Lake in the northwest corner of Tennessee to see hundreds of bald eagles and thousands of waterfowl. With over 90 eagle nests in the area and thousands of migrating eagles coming to spend the winter months at Reelfoot Lake, you are sure to see several eagles as they perch in trees along the banks of the lake and soar overhead in search of food.
Reelfoot Lake State Park offers guided tours during January and February with experienced park rangers who will share information about eagles as they drive you to nesting and feeding areas. The rangers will stop for photo opportunities and set up viewing scopes for a closer view of the eagles. Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge also offers eagle tours on select days in January and February. Eagles are very active and visible in November and December and maps are available for self-guided tours.
Bring your best pictures and paintings to enter the People’s Choice Art & Photography Contest and join the fun of painting at the artists’ table.
