Point Reyes Birding and Nature Festival
April 21, 2023 – April 23, 2023
Our four-day festival celebrates spring bird and wildlife migrations along the Pacific Flyway in Marin and Sonoma counties, but Point Reyes National Seashore provides the main backdrop for our events, where the Pacific Flyway, Pacific Ocean, and other influences provide an ideal location for birding and wildlife viewing. In fact, Point Reyes and the surrounding area has been named the National Audubon’s Society’s #1 birding hotspot for multiple years, where 54%+ of all North American bird species have been seen and recorded.
Our festival engages birders, artists, and nature lovers by providing quality birding and nature experiences, and is open to a variety of ages and experience levels. Attendees can choose from over 50+ educational field outings and classroom-based events focused on birds, wildlife, plants, and marine life + hiking, kayaking, art, and field photography, and led by some of the Bay Area’s award-winning naturalists and birders. Families with children 5-15 are typically invited to join us for our FREE FAMILY DAY activities when we have a LIVE event. Activities include a visit from The Bird Rescue Center of Sonoma, followed by nature games, art tables, owl pellet dissection, face painting, info tables, and more. Additionally, the festival features Friday and Saturday evening programs with keynote speakers so attendees can meet, mingle, eat, drink, and enjoy presentations by top biologists and naturalists.
Keynotes to be announced. Tickets on sale typically in February. EAC members receive early bird registration one week in advance of the public and special discounts.
