Annual NatureFest

Nature lovers of all ages are invited to our Annual NatureFest introducing visitors to local environmental organizations, outdoor activities, and native plants and wildlife. This free family event includes pontoon boat tours, guided walks, live animals, a catch-and-release fish tank, and a variety of presentations throughout the day.

The Nature Center has free guided bird walks on the first Saturdays of September through May. January features the “Winter Bird Count.” Plenty of free parking available on site. Contact: Matt Abernathy, Assistant Director; mabernathy@hcp4.net; 281-446-8588.

FIRST SATURDAY BIRDING. Saturdays, Nov. 7, and Dec. 5, 7:45 a.m. Birders of all skill levels are invited to join a naturalist or volunteer guide to observe and document the park’s variety of birds. Ages 10+.

WINTER BIRD COUNT. Sat., Jan. 4, 2021, 7:45 a.m. Join a local bird guide and fellow bird enthusiasts to identify and document Jones Park’s resident and overwintering birds. Bring binoculars and field guide Ages 10+.   

NatureFest.  Saturday, March 6, 2021.  9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Visitors of all ages are invited to join park staff and volunteers for a day of nature education.  A variety of guided tour and activities will be available throughout the day.  For more information, please call the park office at 281-446-8588.  This free family event is open to all ages.
