27th Great Salt Lake Bird Festival
May 15, 2025 – May 18, 2025
Come join us at the 27th Annual Great Salt Lake Bird Festival in Farmington, Utah, situated off the shores of the Great Salt Lake. The Great Salt Lake is located on a major migration route for more than 250 bird species, making Davis County one of the top places for birders to catch unparalleled views of our many feathered friends.
We are pleased to offer over 65 field trips that allow our attendees to experience some of Utah’s most beautiful State Parks, State Wildlife Areas, National Refuges, and Globally Important Bird Areas. Our festival offerings are designed to create unique opportunities with trips providing “behind the gates” access to areas that cannot be accessed by the general public. Utah is known for its diverse habitats, which result in a variety of birds. Vast deserts, high mountain peaks, rushing rivers, and, of course, the saltiest lake in the country lure the most fascinating array of birds for bird lovers to enjoy.
Festival headquarters will be hosted at Western Sports Park, formally known as the Legacy Events Center, where vendor booths and free birding workshops will make their return to the Festival. We are excited to be back at this location to allow our attendees a space to gather, visit with vendors, learn at educational workshops, hear from speakers, and enjoy family day activities. The festival will take place over the course of four days, along with pre- and post-festival trips that will be available through festival partners.
The official 2025 festival schedule will be announced at the beginning of March, with field trip registration opening mid-March. Field trips fill very quickly so keep an eye on the website for the most up-to-date information on registration dates.
