Godwit Days

April 17, 2025 April 20, 2025

The Godwit Days festival is held at the peak of spring migration and celebrates the thousands of shorebirds that flock to the shores of Humboldt Bay. Arcata is nestled between Humboldt Bay and Redwood forest, providing access for day trips to see Northern Spotted Owl, Marbled Murrelet, Western Snowy Plover, Black Oystercatcher, Ruffed Grouse, and other North Coast specialties.  Explore the lush Redwood Coast, expansive mudflats, wild river valleys, and rocky ocean coast in the Klamath bioregion in northwest California.

There will be vendors, artists, children’s activities, banquet, and silent auction. Field trips, lectures, and workshops will be led by experienced local guides.

The complete program schedule will be posted at www.godwitdays.org, as will instructions on how to access virtual sessions.
