California Botanic Garden Family Bird Fest

February 16, 2025 @ 11:00 am 3:00 pm

The California Botanic Garden in Claremont will celebrate birds and their connections to native plant ecosystems at its Family Bird Festival, from 11 am to 3 pm on February 16. Enjoy a day outdoors with hands-on experiences, activities, and educational opportunities for young beginners and bird enthusiasts.

The California Botanic Garden is partnering with Pomona Valley Audubon Society to fill the garden with interactive educational activities, crafts, and information booths that will teach visitors about birding, bird habitats, birds frequently seen in Southern California, bird anatomy and adaptation. There will also be live birds from a local rescue organization and food trucks.

Past participants for guest booths have included International Bird Rescue, the Alf Museum of Paleontology, Cal Poly Pomona Urban Wildlife Lab, San Dimas Canyon Nature Center, and California Condors Wild and Free.

The Bird Fest takes place during the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC). Festival participants can visit multiple stations throughout the garden to contribute to the California Botanic Garden’s GBBC count.

Admission to the Family Bird Fest is free with admission to the California Botanic Garden.
