For a decade, the Caldas Birdwatching Congress has positioned itself as a specialized event for training in birdwatching, presentation of world-class success stories, exhibition of scientific projects, inclusion of citizen science, and the participation of multiple stakeholders from the value chain of nature tourism in the academic agenda based in Hotel Termales El Otoño where keynote lectures, workshops, forums, education symposium, and scientific poster exhibition will be held.

The experiential agenda, with field trips to observe birds to 20 representative places in Manizales, Villamaría, Chinchiná, and Neira, generates in the participants a direct experience in the territory, knowing its birds, visiting stunning places in different thermal floors and ecosystems that are from 850 to 4,100 meters above sea level, interacting with rural communities, enjoying routes, birdwatching lodges, ecoparks, and nature reserves with specialized tourism products and recognized worldwide as bird hosts, which are part of a sustainable tourism destination with a census of 818 species of birds, in favor of the conservation of their habitats, culture, art, and their communities.

The parallel activities that enrich the academic and experiential agenda of the congress continue with the participation of special guests from the indigenous communities of Riosucio, representatives of the Caldas Bird Watching Clubs, children and young conservation leaders in the second version of the Bird Camp for Kids, with the SONY Experience providing specialized knowledge and practice of bird photography directed by its Alpha Partners throughout the event and additionally with the commercial sample it is possible to present the artisan, artistic, scientific, tourist, educational, and technological offer around tourism of nature in the region.
