Birding at La Paz

  • This event has passed.

September 14, 2024 @ 7:45 am 10:30 am

Discover the beauty, nature, and story of La Nuestra Señora Reina de La Paz National Historic Landmark and Cesar E. Chavez National Monument through birding! Birding offers a wonderful way to slow down and immerse yourself in the natural world. Did you know this area is a hotspot for birding?

In collaboration with the Kern Audubon Society and the National Chávez Center, we invite both seasoned birders and newcomers to join us for a morning of birdwatching. Experienced birders will guide the walk and help identify various bird species, and National Park Service staff will share insights about the history of this remarkable location.

Agenda

7:45-8:00 am: Arrival and check-in
8:00-9:00 am: Bird watching around the National Monument grounds
9:30-10:30 am: Bird watching around the surrounding La Paz National Historic Landmark grounds

The event will start at the National Chávez Center, 29700 Woodford-Tehachapi Rd, Keene, CA 93531.
