Watch Condors From Across The Canyon

Watch the condor chick navigate the cliffs near the nesting cave.

We’re excited to announce that you can now join the Huttons Bowl California Condor chick in its adventures outside the nesting cave! Chick #75 is spending almost all of its time exploring the rugged landscape of Southern California while it continues to develop the strength to fly! Watch the Cross Canyon cam.

Adventure Time: Why has #75 seemingly abandoned its nesting cavity? The 5-month-old chick has simply developed the skills and mobility to begin navigating a more complex environment. Condor chicks will begin to wander outside the areas around their cave as early as 6 weeks old, and they become more exploratory as they age. Watch the cam to see the chick scale rocky cliffs and slide down dusty escarpments, and of course, you might also catch the young condor returning to its cavity for a midday siesta

Don’t forget that you can keep track of the condor chick’s daily antics on Twitter at @CornellCondors.
