Watch A Female American Kestrel Shimmy Over Her Chicks

Watch the female from the American Kestrel Cam arrive back to the nest box and settle over her chicks.

Watch as the female American Kestrel returns from a brooding break and carefully attempts to cover her five nestlings by shimmying over them. At just 4–6 days old on May 20, the chicks are growing larger every day! The female will continue brooding her young for another 4–6 days, after which she’ll likely only return to the nest box at night. Continue to follow their development live on the American Kestrel Cam.
