Royal Albatross Chick Meets A Neighbor In New Zealand

Watch the Royal Albatross nestling interact with one of her neighbors in New Zealand.

Enjoy this meeting between two Northern Royal Albatross chicks at the Signal Station Trig nest site. Watch a neighboring male (foreground) enter the frame and make his way towards the Royal Cam chick (background) for a short visit. After a bout of bill clapping eventually sends the visitor on his way, and he exits the frame after a big wing stretch.

As the nestlings around the breeding colony start venturing farther across the headland in preparation for their first flights, it’s possible that we’ll see more of these meetings between young albatrosses. Watch the Royal Albatross Cam to see what else is in store before the chick fledges.
