Iris Grabbed By The Toe During Fish Delivery

On the Hellgate Osprey Cam, Antali is still spending plenty of time on the nest since since fledging on August 14, whereas Sum-eh—the elder sibling that fledged on August 5—seems to have moved along to explore new areas around the canyon. Iris and Finnegan continue to supplement their youngest fledgling with food, and viewers have been enjoying these fleeting moments with the Osprey family before they head south for fall migration.

In this clip from August 26, the fledgling calls in a fish delivery from Iris and excitedly attempts to claim the meal from her talons. The enthusiasm is there, but the young Osprey still needs to work on securing the fish, as a couple of Iris’s toes get caught in the crossfire. After freeing her toes from the Antali’s sharp bill, Iris leaves the fish for her fledgling to handle.
