Turn right at the stop sign to continue on Hanshaw Rd., and turn right again onto Sapsucker Woods Rd. after about 1 mile (look for binocular signs as you approach.) The Johnson Center is about a mile down Sapsucker Woods Rd. on the left.

By Public Transit

Bus service to the Lab is provided via Route 41. Note that some of the rides require you to call TCAT to arrange a pick up. To guarantee a spot on the bus, please call TCAT (607-277-RIDE) one business day prior to the scheduled pick-up. If you would like to arrange a regular pick-up (same day and time each week, same time each day, etc.), please fill out a subscription form (PDF). If you do not call to arrange for a pick-up, you also have the option of catching the bus at the intersection of Sapsucker Woods Road and Hanshaw Road (estimated 10 – 15 minute walk down Sapsucker Woods Rd.) at the scheduled times (see Route 41 link above). An alternate option is Route 31 to/from the stop on Winston Court and following the trails to get to the Lab (estimated 10 minute walk).

By Shuttle from Cornell Campus

Please note that the shuttle service has changed for the autumn 2014 semester. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology will continue to provide two round-trip shuttle runs per day this semester coupled with TCAT services (Bus 41). Together, these options provide transportation runs once or twice per hour throughout most of the day (see schedule below).

We will be reviewing ridership over the fall semester to determine if there is sufficient demand to maintain the supplemental shuttle runs, or whether TCAT services are adequate to accommodate scheduling needs. Toward the end of the semester, we will post an announcement regarding any changes in shuttle services. Inquiries about shuttle services should be directed to Jeff Payne (jap423@cornell.edu).

TCAT bus passes, good for 15 free rides per semester, are available to students engaged in Lab-sponsored research or other activities. Please contact your Lab sponsor for additional information on how to apply. See complete TCAT fare and bus pass options. All benefits eligible staff members can ride the TCAT bus for free.

Note that some of the rides on the fall schedule require you to call TCAT to arrange a pick up. To guarantee a spot on the bus, please call TCAT (607-277-RIDE) one business day prior to the scheduled pick-up. If you would like to arrange a regular pick-up (same day and time each week, same time each day, etc.), please fill out a subscription form (PDF). If you do not call to arrange for a pick-up, you also have the option of catching the bus at the intersection of Sapsucker Woods Road and Hanshaw Road (estimated 10 – 15 minute walk down Sapsucker Woods Rd.) at the scheduled times (see Bus 41 link above). An alternate option is Bus 31 to/from the stop on Winston Court and following the trails to get to the Lab (estimated 10 minute walk).

Download and print the schedule below for future reference. (PDF)

This schedule is subject to change with little or no notice in the event of staff shortages, weather, or closure. The shuttle runs only when classes are in session.
